I have many years of clinical experience as a psychologist and have been licensed since 2000 (CA license # PSY16833).  My interest in psychology started at Amherst College where I majored in psychology and conducted my first research project for my bachelor's thesis.  I went on to work as a research assistant at the San Francisco VA Hospital and then received my PhD in clinical psychology in 1999 at the University of Georgia.  My predoctoral training was completed at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto, CA and my postdoctoral training was completed at Kaiser in Fremont, CA.  In 2001, I moved to Boston, MA where I had an appointment as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and worked part-time managing a research project at Shriners Burn Hospital and Harvard University.  Concurrently, I worked part-time in a private group practice, Child and Family Psychological Services.  After several years of living in Boston and starting my own family, I moved back to the SF Bay Area and started my own private practice in Oakland, CA.  All of these training and work experiences have provided me with extensive clinical experience, numerous research publications and presentations, and teaching and supervision background as well.

I continue my education and training as a clinician by attending workshops, participating in ongoing consultation groups, and being a member of multiple professional organizations.  I am currently a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Association for Behavior and Cognitive Therapy (ABCT), Northern California Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Network (NCCBT), Obsessive Compulsive Foundation (OCF), the Trichotillomania Learning Center (TLC), and the Tourette's Syndrome Association (TSA).
