more about me

Heidi Ronfeldt, Phd

Over Two Decades of Clinical Expertise

My interest in psychology started at Amherst College where I majored in psychology.  After college, I worked as a research assistant at the San Francisco VA Hospital, and then I went on to earn my PhD in clinical psychology in 1999 at the University of Georgia.  My predoctoral training was completed at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto, CA;  my postdoctoral training was completed at Kaiser in Fremont, CA; and I became a licensed psychologist in 2000.

In 2001, I moved to Boston, MA where I was appointed as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and I worked part-time managing a research project at Shriners Burn Hospital and Harvard University.  Concurrently, I worked part-time in a private group practice, Child and Family Psychological Services.  After several years living in Boston and starting my own family, I moved back to the SF Bay Area and started my own private practice.  All of these educational and work experiences provided me with extensive clinical experience, numerous research publications and presentations, and a background in teaching and supervision.

Outside of work, I like to run, sing, hike and backpack, watch sports, and spend time with my husband and two adult children. As a Berkeley native and Berkeley High graduate, I continue to enjoy exploring the SF Bay Area and all that it has to offer.
