Frequently Asked Questions

  • All of my appointments, including my initial appointment with new clients, are approximately 50 minutes long.

  • I take credit card payments online through my practice management program, Simple Practice. You will receive a receipt after every payment and a super bill at the beginning of every month. These documents can easily be accessed through Simple Practice at any time.

  • I offer appointments both in person in my Albany, CA office, and virtually throughout the state of California.

  • The length of therapy depends on each client’s needs and goals.  I find it most effective to start working with clients on a weekly basis in order to build rapport, assess current and historical struggles and strengths, identify goals, develop a plan, and start implementing that plan.  Some clients have very focused, short term goals and some have more in depth, longer term ones.  At the beginning and throughout therapy, we check-in about goals and/or monitor progress, discuss therapy frequency and length, and whether or not to change the plan.

  • If you need to cancel or re-schedule an appointment, I ask that you do so at least 48 hours before your appointment time.  If you are not able to provide 48 hours notice, you may be charged the full fee for your appointment.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, to give you a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
